Filmmakers David Burton Morris and Victoria Wozniak discuss their work as pioneers of Minnesotan independent film, with such films as Loose Ends (1976), Purple Haze (1983, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival) and Patti Rocks (1988). Growing up in Saint Paul, they studied film with Al Milgrom, and Morris studied filmmaking at UCLA. They later spent a number of years in Los Angeles before returning to Minnesota. Morris has since been involved in numerous television productions and Wozniak is currently president of the Minnesota Film and TV Board.
